Description: Window treatments made with fabric, emphasizing texture, pattern, color and attention to detail.

 

Top Treatments

Description: A treatment over a window such as a cornice board or fabric heading, either stand-alone or as part of the overall design.

 

Combination

Description: The use of two or more types of treatments such as draperies with shades, blinds, top treatments or cornices.

 

Finishing Touch – Decorative Hardware & Trim

Description: Projects using hardware that attach the window treatment to the wall (purchased or created), as well as using decorative trim/passementerie to elevate the design.

 

Soft Shades

Description: Custom window treatments in the form of operable shades such as roman shades.

 

Specialty (Arches, Odd Shapes, etc.)

Description: Innovative window treatments addressing a nonstandard window such as bay or bow, angled, arch top, skylights, two-story windows, and window walls and doors.

 

Whole-Room Integration

Description: Incorporating window treatments into the entire room design: bedrooms, living rooms, etc.

 

Motorization

Description: Window treatments that are motorized. Video must be included.

 

Outdoor Living

Description: Using window treatments in the creation of outdoor space, either functional or decorative.

 

Commercial

Description: Custom window treatments specified for a commercial space: offices, hotels, public spaces, etc.

 

Luxury

Description: Over-the-top window treatments dripping with gorgeous elements for the discerning, budget-less client.

Description: This category is for those entering the competition for the first time and/or who have not won a Grace award in the past in either of the Design or Artisan categories. The entry should encompass a full window treatment project.
